Jamie Matson

Owner and Director

Jamie has been in the field of education for 14 years. She has a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master Degree in Education for Curriculum and Instruction.  She has also completed post graduate studies to become a Certified Reading Specialist. Jamie has worked as a reading specialist over the last 3 school years and is excited to incorporate her background into building a strong foundation for reading and writing. 

During her time teaching, Jamie has grown personally and professionally through her teaching experiences. Her most relatable positions were teaching 3-5 year old's as a special education teacher in early intervention, teaching first grade at Elk Valley Elementary School, and working as a reading specialist. Jamie fell in love with the 3-5 age group during her time working in early intervention and she strongly believe these early childhood years are extremely important to the development of the whole child. Jamie's calling to motherhood has also made her value these years as the most formative and important years in a child’s life.  

Jamie is active in the community and has been coaching youth soccer in Girard and the Erie area for many years. She values sports as an opportunity for growth in intrapersonal skills such as: self esteem, team work, work ethic, perseverance, and coordination.
