About Us
Our program is a guest in the beautiful, rebuilt church of First Presbyterian Church of Girard, on Main Street, in Girard, Pennsylvania. Little Explorers Christian Academy, LLC is fundamentally focused on educating the whole student’s social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. The basic Christian morals and values, kindness, thankfulness, and serving the community will be introduced and practiced daily.
The students will receive a play-based, explorative, hands on education. Through our approach the students will develop a love for learning, respect for others, and the foundation for a successful educational journey.
The class sizes will be a maximum of 8:1 student-teacher ratio. The teachers possess a minimum of a Bachelor degree in the education field.
Our classrooms are housed in a private educational wing which is part of the church. The church is a secure and safe space for learning.
Little Explorers Christian Academy’s 2021-2022 school year calendar will mirror Girard School District’s calendar. We will have school for 180 days.
Activities have been chosen based on the student’s interests and correlate with the curriculum and child’s needs. Educational days starts with whole group with a rotation of story, meditation, movement, music and setting the tone for the day. The educational day will include introductions to sign language, Spanish, the arts, music, gross motor activities, outdoor exploration, and much more. The foundational academic skills will be imbedded in all we do. The students will learn as they play and explore. All activities will be intentionally aligned with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards. All programs will be based on the core Christian values of kindness, respect, thankfulness, and service.
At Little Explorers Christian Academy we welcome all cultures and look forward to teaching our children about celebrations and practices around the world. We partner with our families to bring culture into our school. This process enriched our school culture and promotes acceptance and respect for all.
Exposing our students to different sports allows them the opportunity to explore new ways of being healthy. At Little Explorers Christian Academy our students are introduced to a new sport each season and are provided the fundamentals and foundational skills for each sport. Children can learn many life skills and lessons through sports. Sports allow the children to develop their gross motor skills, confidence, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.
